The antibody neutralizes receptor-ligand interaction. The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with recombinant human PlGF and recombinant human VEGF.
Immunogen
purified recombinant mouse placenta growth factor 2 expressed in insect Sf 21 cells.
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Placental growth factors (PlGF) are involved in the growth, migration and survival of endothelial cells. All the four isoforms identified are expressed in placenta and umbilical vein endothelial cells. PlGF bind to specific Flt-1 receptors that result in activation and recruitment of dendritic cells, smooth muscle cells and inflammatory cells. PlGF2 has the ability to bind heparin while PlGF1 is a soluble isoform.
Physikalische Form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.

Angiogenesis is one of the crucial events for cancer development and growth and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family plays an essential role in this biological phenomenon. The members of VEGF family mainly involved in angiogenesis are VEGF-A, VEGF-B and
Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, and statins have renoprotective effects. We studied the cellular mechanisms for this effect in adriamycin-treated mice receiving captopril, losartan, simvastatin, or their combinations. The mice developed albuminuria, renal insufficiency, and parenchymal inflammation/fibrosis accompanied
