Allgemeine Beschreibung

Lycopene is a naturally occurring red pigment, which belongs to the family of carotenoids. It is found in tomatoes, watermelon and papaya. Lycopene has antioxidant property.[1]

Anwendung

Lycopene has been used:
  • in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to determine its concentration in liver, kidney and lung tissue[2]
  • to induce urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) IN prostate cancer cell line[3]
  • in Raman chemical imaging system to detect and visualize its internal distribution[4]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Der antioxidative Mikronährstoff von Tomaten wird mit einem verringerten Risiko für Krebs und kardiovaskuläre Erkrankungen in Verbindung gebracht. Er verstärkt die Gap-Junction-Kommunikation zwischen Zellen durch die Hochregulierung von Connexin-43 und verringert die Proliferation von Krebszellen in Kultur. Hemmt die Cholesterinsynthese und verstärkt den Abbau von Low-density Lipoprotein.

If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life.
