General description

Cyclanilide is typically employed as a plant growth inhibitor in cotton, either to inhibit vegetative growth (in combination with mepiquat chloride) or to promote senescence (in combination with ethephon).

Application

Cyclanilide may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
  • Infant formula and milk samples by ultra-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS).
  • Cotton seed oil samples by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) detection.
