Description

General description

A cell-permeable inhibtor of protein kinase C (IC₅₀ = 20-50 µM). Activates Ca²⁺-activated K⁺ channels in amphibian myelinated nerve fibers at micromolar concentrations. An inhibitor of myo-inositol uptake. Also inhibits L-type Ca²⁺ channel activity. A potent inhibitor of 5′-iodothyronine deiodinase. Antagonist of prostaglandin F_2α receptors linked to phospholipase C in astrocytes.
