General description

Bolton Broth Selective Supplement is a mixture of four different antibiotics in lyophilized form. Vancomycin, Cefoperazone, and Trimethoprim inhibit the growth of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Amphotericin B largely reduces the growth of Yeasts and Molds.

Application

Bolton Broth Selective Supplement is an additive used during the preparation of Bolton Selective Enrichment Broth for the enrichment of Campylobacter from foods.

Growth promotion test according to ISO 11133
Mixed inoculum of Campylobacter, E.coli and P.mirabilis.
Additionaly monoculture of E.coli and P.mirabilis.
Afterwards confirmation on mCCDA resp. Tryptic soy agar
