  • Hu Entrez ID: 324 (Related Antibodies: ST1150, OP62, OP47L, OP44)
  • Mu Entrez ID: 11789
  • RatEntrez ID: 24205

Immunogen

a recombinant protein consisting of amino acids 1-226 of APC

Application

Frozen Sections (5 µg/ml) Immunofluorescence (5 µg/ml) Paraffin Sections (5 µg/ml, heat pre-treament required) Immunocytochemistry (see application references) Free Floating Sections (see application references)

Well suited for IHC and IF studies of oligodendrocytes and optic nerves due to the antibody′s staining of the cell body as opposed to the myelinated processes. Both frozen sections and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded brain sections can be used. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.

Mutations of APC appear to initiate sporadic and inherited forms of human colorectal cancer. Although these mutations have been well characterized, little is known about the function of the APC gene product. Two cellular proteins that associate with APC were

Germline mutations of the APC gene are responsible for familial adenomatous polyposis, an autosomal dominant inherited predisposition to colorectal tumors. Mutation of the APC gene is also an early, if not initiating, event for sporadic colorectal tumorigenesis. In both cases

DNA from 61 unrelated patients with adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) was examined for mutations in three genes (DP1, SRP19, and DP2.5) located within a 100 kb region deleted in two of the patients. The intron-exon boundary sequences were defined for

The adenomatous polyposis coli protein (APC) is mutated in familial adenomatous polyposis patients as well as in sporadic colorectal tumors. In an attempt to further understand the function of APC, the subcellular localization of APC was examined. Wild-type and mutant
