Descripción

General description

Bacitracin is a polypeptide antibiotic recovered from certain strains of B. subtilis and B. licheniformis. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Application

Bacitracin may be used as a pharmaceutical secondary reference standard for the determination of the analyte in serum samples and food samples by chromatography techniques.
