Descripción general

Phytonadione belongs to the category of oral anticonvulsant drugs. It protects a newborn from acquiring hemorrhagic diseases by maintaining a normal blood clotting mechanism.[1][2]
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Aplicación

Phytonadione may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard in the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chromatographic[3] and spectrophotometric techniques.[4]
These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. Could you clarify certified purity calculation for batch LRAD1021? CoA says 98.6% but I find 99.2% when using the formula and test results provided.

    1. The Loss On Drying (LOD) value is not provided on the Certificate of Analysis. This value was used in the final purity calculation to arrive at 98.6% the reported purity value. If not corrected for LOD, you will get a result of 99.2%.
