Description générale

β-Lactoglobulin A & B is the major whey protein of cow and sheep′s milk and is also present in many other mammalian species with an interesting exception being humans. It is considered a food allergen. This full-length protein CRM is suitable as starting material for use in calibrators or controls for a variety of LC-MS/MS testing applications including allergen testing, infant formula testing and dietary or nutritional testing applications.

  • beta-Lactoglobulin protein purification: Utilized in developing high-capacity anion exchangers, beta-Lactoglobulin aids in protein purification processes essential for pharmaceutical research and production, improving efficiency and scale-up capabilities (Ng and Snyder, 2013).

  • The certified property value is traceable to national institute of standards and technology (NIST) through calibration verification using NIST traceable weights.
  • Balances and NIST traceable weights are calibrated.
  • Long term stability has been evaluated for freezer storage (-10 °C to -25 °C) conditions.

Notes préparatoires

  • Weigh the material before usage.
  • The amount to be weighed should be determined based on the certified property value. Please note that the material is hygroscopic.
  • To maintain accuracy, minimize exposure to moisture during the weighing process.
  • For quantitative applications, the minimum sample size for intended use is 20 mg.
  • If a smaller sample size is necessary, it is advisable to increase the uncertainty by a factor of 2 for accurate results.
