Biochem/physiol Actions

Modalità d′azione: La gentamicina provoca un errore di lettura dei codoni legandosi alla subunità ribosomiale 30S e bloccando così la traslocazione del peptidil-tRNA dal sito dell′accettore al sito del donatore. L′effetto battericida della gentamicina sullo Pseudomonas aeruginosa è determinato dal legame che si instaura tra la gentamicina e la membrana esterna, su cui agisce dislocando i cationi naturali, destabilizzando la membrana e originando fori nella superficie cellulare.

Spettro antimicrobico: Include batteri Gram-negativi e Gram-positivi, compresi ceppi resistenti a tetraciclina, cloramfenicolo, kanamicina e colistina, in particolare ceppi di Pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus e Streptococcus.
