Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate belongs to the class of phthalate esters, released in the environment through volatilization and leaching from plastics and other sources. It is extensively used as an additive for the manufacturing of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics.[1]

Applicazioni

Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate may be used as a reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in milk samples[1] and water samples[2] using chromatography techniques.
