Descrizione generale

Sphingolipid Ceramide N-Deacylase from Pseudomonas sp. is a hydrolytic enzyme.[1]

Applicazioni

Sphingolipid Ceramide N-Deacylase from Pseudomonas sp. has been used in enzymatic conversion and derivatization of sulfatides.[2] It has also been used to hydrolyze the fatty acid chain of mactosyl ceramide.[3]

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Hydrolyzes the N-acyl linkage between fatty acids and sphingosines in ceramides of various sphingolipids.
Sphingolipid Ceramide N-Deacylase from Pseudomonas sp., under certain conditions, can recyclate lyso-sphingolipids.[1] It condenses fatty acids to sphingosine to generate ceramide.[4] The enzyme mainly acts on neutral and acidic glycosphingolipids.[5]

Sphingolipid ceramide N-deacylase (SCDase, EC 3.5.1.69) is a hydrolytic enzyme isolated from Pseudomonas sp. TK 4. In addition to its primary deacylation function, this enzyme is able to reacylate lyso-sphingolipids under specific conditions. We immobilised this enzyme on magnetic macroporous
