Exo2 acts as a chemical probe of intracellular transport.
Exo2 acts as a chemical probe of intracellular transport. Edxo2 has activities similar to Brefeldin A with membrane trafficking to the Golgi appartus, but appears more selective.
Exo2 is a bioactive small molecule that activates Golgi-endoplasmic reticulum (ER) fusion in mammals by distorting the Golgi apparatus. It prevents the release of secretory cargo from the ER. Exo2 do not modify the morphology of the trans-Golgi network (TGN).[1] It also inhibits the anterograde movement of vesicular stomatitis virus G (VSV G) glycoprotein, from ER to Golgi.[2]
