General description

L′acido 2-fosfato-L-ascorbico sale di sesquimagnesio idrato, noto anche come ascorbil fosfato di magnesio (MAP) è un derivato stabile della vitamina C (acido L-ascorbico). Il MAP viene impiegato in diversi settori di ricerca, tra cui quello degli esperimenti sulle emulsioni, sulla defosforilazione catalitica, sul differenziamento cellulare e nell′ambito dell′ingegneria dei tessuti. I suoi molti impieghi contemplano anche la ricerca sulla repressione genica, gli studi trascrizionali e quelli sui fattori di crescita. In biologia cellulare, risultati preliminari evidenziano un possibile impiego del MAP nell′induzione di cambiamenti morfologici nelle cellule in coltura, di cui è in grado di modificare i processi collegati alla morte cellulare.

Inoltre il MAP svolge un ruolo centrale nella ricerca sulla metabolomica e in ambito biochimico. In virtù della sua azione antiossidante, interviene come efficace scavenger di radicali liberi proteggendo così le cellule dal danno ossidativo. Le sue proprietà anti-infiammatorie contribuiscono a ridurre l′infiammazione e alcuni studi hanno evidenziato la sua capacità di stimolare la produzione di collagene. Oltre a questo, il MAP può essere impiegato come agente di chelazione, e il suo impiego può quindi estendersi ad altri ambiti di ricerca. La natura poliedrica del MAP ne fa uno strumento apprezzato nell′ambito delle indagini scientifiche, in grado di contribuire ai progressi della ricerca in campi come la biologia cellulare, la metabolomica e la biochimica.

Application

Il sale idrato di sesquimagnesio di acido L-ascorbico 2-fosfato è stato usato in un terreno di espansione di cellule staminali mesenchimali per incubare l′impalcatura centrale, nel terreno di Eagle modificato da ‘Dulbecco′(DMEM) per coltivare cellule del cordone ombelicale umano e cellule staminali mesenchimali.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Il 2-fosfato di acido L-ascorbico (AA2P) è impiegato nella defosforilazione biocatalica per la generazione di energia elettrica e determinazioni analitiche elettrochimiche. Il 2-fosfato di acido L-ascorbico può essere impiegato nella differenziazione cellulare e in applicazione di ingegneria dei tessuti. L′asc-2P è usato in studi di repressione genica, come la repressione della espressione dickkopf-1 indotta da diidrotestosterone.

  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   3. How long is stable at -20 or -80 degrees, if dissolved in water or media? By any chance, did you tested the stability of this product at -20 °C or -80 °C?

    1. Unfortunately, the solution stability of this product at freezer temperatures has not been determined. This product is soluble in water at 50 mg/ml. Stock solutions have been found to retain 85% activity for 1 week at 37 °C and 80% activity for 1 month at refrigerated temperatures.

  5. What type of filter membrane can be used to sterilize ascorbic acid?

    1. After reconstitution in water, it is recommended to sterilize the solution using a 0.22 micron PES filter, such as one of the following products, or any other dimension that better fits the end user's needs.

    1. This is not a sterile product. Stock solutions should be filter-sterilized. The compound is soluble in water at 50 mg/mL. The solution stability has not been determined.

      If this product is reconstituted or diluted into media, it retains approximately 85% of its activity after 1 week at 37 °C and approximately 80% for 1 month at 5 °C.

      This product stability has not been determined at -20 °C or -80 °C.
