Bromoxynil is a foliar-applied contact herbicide,[1] for post-emergence control of annual broad-leaved weeds in agriculture.[2] Its mode of action involves the uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation in plants and animals. It also inhibits photoreduction and photophosphorylation in chloroplasts.[2]
