Application

Aqueous solution may be used directly for derivatization without previous dialysis or gel permeation chromatography.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

βLa β-galactosidase clive le lactose en ses constituants monosaccharides, le glucose et le galactose. Elle catalyse également la transglycosylation du glucose en allolactose, inducteur de la β-galactosidase, dans une boucle de rétroaction.

Conditionnement

Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.

Poids moléculaire du tétramère : 465 kDa (chaque sous-unité ayant 116,3 kDa)

Définition de l'unité

1 U corresponds to the amount of enzyme which hydrolyzes 1 μmol 2-nitrophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside (Cat. No. 73660) per minute at pH 7.8 and 37 °C

A sensitive and specific double-antibody enzyme immunoassay (EIA) for a thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH)-like immunoreactive substance has been developed. In order to synthesize TRH-labeled beta-D-galactosidase (beta-gal), a newly devised TRH derivative, pGlu-His-Pro-NH-(CH2)6-NH2 (TRH-Hex), was employed. TRH-Hex was linked to beta-gal

We and others have previously shown that a 67-kD cell surface elastin/laminin-binding protein (EBP) is responsible for cell adhesion to elastin and laminin and for mediating the process of elastin fiber assembly, but the nature of this protein was unknown.

Questions

  1. I have already bought this one. My question is how will I reconstitute it? What diluent or buffer will I use?

    1 answer
    1. This product is lyophilized from a solution containing phosphate buffer and sucrose and may be reconstituted in water. For testing purposes, this product is dissolved at 5 mg/mL in a cold assay buffer. See below to review the composition of the 50 mM Tris assay buffer:
      1.0 ml 1 M Tris stock solution
0.4 ml of 0.5 M magnesium chloride stock solution
      0.01 ml Mercapto-ethanol
      Add to 15 ml H2O
      adjust pH 7.3 with HCl 1 M
      QS to 20 ml
