Description générale

L′IGEPAL® CA-630 est un détergent non ionique et non dénaturant adapté à la solubilisation, à l′isolement et à la purification des complexes de protéines membranaires. Il est impossible à distinguer du Nonidet P-40 d'un point de vue chimique.[1]

Application

L′IGEPAL® CA-630 a été utilisé :
  • comme constituant d′un tampon de broyage avec du dodécylsulfate de lithium, du tris-HCl, de l′EDTA, du NaCl, du désoxycholate de sodium, du dithiothréitol et de la thiourée dans un procédé d′extraction d′ARN[2]
  • avec du Tris-HCl pour l′incubation de tachyzoïtes cultivés dans des cellules Vero[3]
  • comme constituant d′un tampon pour extrait nucléaire D+ contenant de l′HEPES, du glycérol, du KCl et de l′EDTA destiné à une analyse par retard sur gel[4]
  • comme constituant d′un tampon Pl avec du NaH2PO4 pour laver des lames dans une méthode FISH (hybridation in situ en fluorescence)[5]
  • pour solubiliser et isoler des protéines membranaires

Autres remarques

Détergent non ionique et non dénaturant

Qualité

Impossible à distinguer d′un point de vue chimique du Nonidet P-40, qui lui n′est plus disponible à la vente.

Attention

Peut devenir turbide ou sédimenter durant le stockage. Un chauffage à 40 °C permet d′obtenir un liquide limpide.

  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. This material may degrade upon extended exposure to high heat and/or pressure, thus the product has not been validated for use following autoclaving.

  5. Hey! How long can you store an Igepal solution (1 mL Igepal diluted to 20mL in MiliQ water)? Thanks in advance! Femke

    1. The product is generally stable based on the chemical composition and a 10% (w/v) aqueous solution may be stable refrigerated for at least one month. However, it is important to minimize the exposure of the solution to oxygen (keep closed soon after use). The product does have a tendency to oxidize in air forming peroxides through a free radical process. In addition, some bacterial growth may occur which is evidenced by an odor or formation of a precipitate. Preservatives added to the solution may prevent bacterial growth.
