Description générale

Applications
Adhérence cellulaire, croissance cellulaire, différenciation cellulaire, immunocytochimie

Ghrelin-O-acyltransferase (GOAT) is a membrane-bound enzyme that attaches eight-carbon octanoate to a serine residue in ghrelin and thereby acylates inactive ghrelin to produce active ghrelin. In this study, we investigated the function of GOAT in the intestinal mucosal barrier. The

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. What is the height of the "feet" of the PIHP01250 Millicell Cell Culture Inserts? Meaning, how much clearance is there between the bottom of the well and the bottom of the membrane?

    1 answer
    1. The height of the feet or distance between the membrane and bottom of the well ranges from 1 - 2 mm. Please see the image below:

  2. Regarding the PIHP01250 & PTHT12H48 membrane insert products: what is the thickness of the membrane? Is the bottom totally flat, i.e. if I placed it down on a flat surface, would the entire area of the membrane be in direct contact with the surface?

    1 answer
    1. The thickness of the polycarbonate and PET membranes range from 7-20 um. The standing inserts (PIHP01250) have small "feet" that contact the bottom of the wells. The hanging inserts (PTHT12H48) are suspended by 'wings' that rest on the sides of the wells. Please see the image below:

      Helpful?

  3. What is the thickness of the membrane in these inserts? We need this information to evaluate if it's possible to image through the membrane with a confocal microscope.

    1 answer
    1. The thickness specification for the PIHP01250 Millicell Cell Culture Insert, which is made of polycarbonate and has a pore size of 0.4 µm, ranges between 9-11 microns.
