Biochem/physiol Actions

Triterpenoid ist in vielen verschiedenen Obstsorten, auch in Äpfeln, zu finden. Herzschutzmittel und Anti-Tumor-Wirkstoff. Seine Eignung als potenzielles Therapeutikum für die Alzheimer-Krankheit infolge seiner hemmenden Wirkung auf die Interaktionen zwischen Amyloid-β und dem CD36-Rezeptor wird derzeit untersucht.
