Biochem/physiol Actions

Das Lysergsäureamid-Derivat Cabergolin ist ein wirksamer Dopamin-D2-Rezeptoragonist. Es wirkt auch auf Dopamin-Rezeptoren in lactophilen Zellen des Hypothalamus unter Unterdrückung der Prolactin-Produktion in der Hypophyse. Es wurde bei der Monotherapie früher Phasen der Parkinson-Krankheit verwendet und in der Kombinationstherapie zusammen mit Levodopa und einem Decarboxylase-Inhibitor, wie z.B. Carbidopa, in progressiven Phasen der Parkinson-Krankheit und der Begleittherapie von Prolactin-produzierenden Tumoren der Hypophyse (microprolactinomas ).
