Application

Chlorpromazinhydrochlorid wird wie folgt verwendet:

• als Antagonist für Calmodulinkinase[1]
• als Mediumergänzung zur Untersuchung seiner zytotoxischen Wirkung auf mikrovaskuläre Endothelzellen der menschlichen Lunge (HMVEC-L)
• als Inhibitor der Clathrin-vermittelten Endozytose in RAW 264.7-Zellen

Ersatz für Benzidin, o-Dianisid und o-Tolidin bei der Bestimmung von Mikromengen von Hämoglobin und Peroxidase.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Chlorpromazin zeigt zytotoxische und antiproliferative Aktivität gegen Leukämiezellen, beeinträchtigt jedoch die Lebensfähigkeit normaler Lymphozyten nicht.

Phenothiazin antipsychotisch; D₂ Dopamin-Rezeptor-Antagonist, H₁ Histamin-Rezeptor-Antagonist; hemmt Calmodulin-abhängige Stimulation zyklischer Nucleotid-Phosphodiesterase und der Stickstoffoxidsynthase.
