Anwendung

Questions

1–4 of 4 Questions
  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. Is the inorganic P-anion (orthophosphate) concentration measured for this product? If yes, can you please give a range for this concentration?

    1 answer
    1. The exact inorganic phosphorus content is not reported for every batch of this product, but every batch is certified to contain less than 0.1% inorganic phosphorus. Compliance with this specification is confirmed in every Certificate of Analysis.

  4. Hello! is there any information on phosphorus content in it? I use this product to build a standard curve to determine the phytic acid content using colorimetrical method, the phosphorus content is important for result calculation. Thank you! Zhanhui

    1 answer
    1. This product is not tested for Phosphorus content on a lot-to-lot basis. Historical data indicate a typical range of 13 – 15%. The content may be roughly estimated using the following information:
      A lot reporting a sodium content is 13 mol/mol has the chemical formula of C6H18O24P6 · 13Na with a molecular weight of 12 x 6 + 1 x 18 + 16 x 24 + 31 x 6 + 23 x 13 = 959 g/mol.
      The theoretical phosphorus content, then, is 31 x 6 / 959 = 19.4% for a purity of 100%.
An assay value of 95% (Dry Basis) may be estimated by 19.4% x 95% = 18.4%.
Note that the sodium content is lot-specific and reported in the product Certificate of Analysis.
