Application

Zur Detektion von E. coli und Coliformen. Galle und Brillantgrün hemmen den Wachstum der Begleitflora weitgehend, im besonderen von grampositiven Mikroorganismen. Die Anwesenheit von E. coli bewirkt eine Fluoreszenz unter UV. Ein positiver Indoltest plus eventuell Gasbildung von der
Lactosefermentation stellen eine Bestätgung dar. Die Bouillon kann in Verbindung mit der MPN-Methode für die Auszählung von E. coli und Coliformen im Badewasser benutzt werden.

Preparation Note

Dissolve 41 g in 1 litre distilled water and pour into tubesfitted with Durham tubes if necessary. Autoclave at 121°C.
