General description

DHEAS ist ein Metabolit von Dehydroepiandrosteron (DHEA), einem endogenen Steroid, das bei Menschen und anderen Säugetieren in eine Vielzahl biologischer Wirkungen involviert ist. Die DHEAS-Werte werden mittels LC-MS/MS gemessen zur Bestimmung der überschüssigen Nebennierenaktivität, wie sie bei Nebennierenkrebs, bestimmten Formen der kongenitalen adrenalen Hyperplasie (CAH) und dem polyzystischen Ovarsyndrom beobachtet wird.
