General description

Sulforhodamine B is a rhodamine derived aminoxanthene dye. It contains two sulfonic acids groups which separate in alkaline condition.

Application

Sulforhodamine B sodium salt has been used:

for relative total cell mass quantification
to investigate the viscosity of coacervates
as a molecular rotor for microviscosity determination in aerosol droplets
