Description générale

17α-Hydroxypregnenolone is a steroid hormone produced in the adrenal glands. This hormone is monitored as an ancillary test for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), particularly in situations where diagnosis of 21-hydroxylase and 11-hydroxylase eficiency has been ruled out. This Certified Spiking Solution^® is suitable for use as starting material in linearity standards, calibrators, and controls fo numerous LC-MS/MS applications in endocrinology, clinical chemistry, and neonatal screening.

Application

• Enhancement of Steroidogenic Enzyme Assays: The role of protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions in cytochrome P450 function, which is crucial for understanding the enzymatic activities involved in steroid biosynthesis, including those mediated by 17 alpha-Hydroxypregnenolone (Scott EE et al., 2016).
