Yes, this product may be autoclaved. The material can be autoclaved at 121°C for 20 minutes. The maximum operating temperature of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE or Teflon) is approximately 500°F. If heated at or below this temperature, the material does not undergo thermal degradation. Please note the thermal decomposition products are highly dependent upon the combustion conditions. Polytetrafluoroethylene can emit toxic fumes when heated to temperatures exceeding 700°F.

Description générale
PTFE sealing tape is a chemically inert, self-adhesive tape used in all laboratory plumbing connections, including regulators, control valves, purge valves, in-line flowmeters, impurity traps, gas filters, and ground glass joints. When properly applied to gas or liquid plumbing threads, the PTFE sealing tape fills in gaps between the threads and creates a gas/water-tight seal. When used with ground-glass joints, desiccators, and bell jars, it provides a vacuum-tight seal that is easily removed even after long periods of time.
