The CYP2E1 (cytochrome P450 2E1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 10 and is polymorphic. CYP2E1 is part of the cytochrome P450 (CYP) family of enzymes.

Application

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.
Anti-CYP2E1 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting and immunostaining.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

CYP2E1 (cytochrome P450 2E1) takes part in the activation of low molecular weight molecules, such as ethanol, carcinogens, toxins and drugs. It is involved in phase 1 oxidative xenobiotic metabolism. Polymorphism is the CYP2E1 gene is associated with oral cancer.
