Description générale

Caldesmon is a regulatory protein that plays a role in smooth muscle contraction with actin, myosin, tropomyosin, and calmodulin. Anti-caldesmon antibody labels smooth muscle and tumors of smooth muscle. It also typically shows expression in epithelioid mesothelioma but not in ovarian serous carcinoma.
