General description

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions, including increased blood pressure, elevated insulin levels, abnormal cholesterol levels and excess body fat around the waist. Key features of metabolic syndrome include insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and central obesity.

MILLIPLEX® Non-Human Primate Metabolic Panel is a 12-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of any or all of the following analytes in serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatant samples: Amylin (active), C-Peptide, Ghrelin (active), GIP (total), GLP-1 (active), Glucagon, IL-6, Insulin, Leptin, MCP-1/CCL2, Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP), and PYY (total). This kit uses a 96-well format, contains a lyophilized standard cocktail, two internal assay quality controls and can measure up to 38 samples in duplicate.

The Luminex® xMAP® platform uses a magnetic bead immunoassay format for ideal speed and sensitivity to quantitate multiple analytes simultaneously, dramatically improving productivity while conserving valuable sample volume.

Panel Type: Metabolism

Specificity

Cross Reactivty
There was no or negligible cross-reactivity between the antibodies for an analyte and any of the other analytes in this panel.

Application

  • Analytes: Amylin (Active), C-Peptide, Ghrelin (Active), GIP (Total), Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) (Active), Glucagon, IL-6, Insulin, Leptin, MCP-1 (CCL2), Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP), PYY (Total)
  • NOTE: When measuring specific analytes, protease inhibitors should be added to blood samples upon collection: DPPIV inhibitor for GLP-1; Protease Inhibitor Cocktail for Amylin; Aprotinin for Glucagon; Serine Protease Inhibitor for Ghrelin (Active)
  • Recommended Sample Type: Non-human primate serum, plasma, cell/tissue culture supernatants and lysates.
  • Recommended Sample Dilution: 25 μL per well of undiluted serum or plasma; cell/tissue culture samples may require dilution with an appropriate control medium.
  • Assay Run Time: Overnight (18-20 hours) at 2-8°C.
  • Research Category: Metabolism
  • Research Category: Metabolic Diseases, Obesity
