Application

  • Metal Extraction and Digestion: Nitric acid (60%) is extensively used for the extraction and digestion of metals from various samples. This application is crucial for preparing samples for subsequent analysis by techniques such as Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). Recent studies have compared the efficiency of nitric acid treatment with microwave digestion for extracting metals from bioprocess samples, demonstrating its effectiveness in achieving high recovery rates and accuracy (Mohammad and Madhavarao, Analytical Biochemistry, 2024).

  • Food and Beverage Analysis: Nitric acid is employed in the analysis of food and beverage samples to determine the mineral composition. For instance, the acid is used in microwave-assisted decomposition of foods like rice, carrots, and chayote, facilitating the determination of elements such as aluminum, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, and lead. This application is vital for ensuring food safety and compliance with health standards (Serafim et al., Brazilian Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2024).

Questions

  1. Is there any possibility that this reagent can be used with only comparator? since doing titration takes a long time like using testing by eyes only, is there any manual or reference we can refer to

    1 answer
    1. This product is designed specifically for the detection of chlorine by the formation of a stable yellow-colored diimine. Titration endpoints can be determined visually using a white surface to assist detection of color or spectrophotometrically monitoring at a 450 nm wavelength. Unfortunately, there is no formal manual for this product.
