Biochem/physiol Actions

SNX-482 is a peptidyl toxin originally isolated from the venom of the spider Hysterocrates gigas. SNX-482 specifically blocks Cav2.3 (a1E, R-type) calcium channels in a voltage dependent manner. SNX-482 also blocks P/Q-type voltage-gated Ca²⁺ channels and blocks A-type K⁺ channels (IC₅₀ of <3 nm).

SNX-482 specifically blocks Cav2.3 calcium channels.

Preparation Note

Any aqueous buffer. Centrifuge before use (10000 x g for 5 min). After reconstitution, store for 3 months at −20 °C or up to four weeks at 2-8 °C.
