Application
Zoledronsäuremonohydrat wird wie folgt verwendet:
- als Inhibitor der Zellproliferation in der Glioblastom-, Brustkrebstumor- und Prostatakrebszelllinie LAPC4
- als Konjugat mit D,L-Lactid 75:Glycolid 25 (PLGA) zur Analyse seiner Knochenbildungsfunktion im distalen Femur
- als Inhibitor des Farnesyldiphoshatsynthaseenzyms in Glioblastomzellen
Biochem/physiol Actions
Zoledronsäure (Zoledronat) ist ein Bisphosphat-Knochenabbauinhibitor, ein Inhibitor von Farnesyldiphophat(FPP)-Synthase, was zu einer nachgelagerten Hemmung der Osteoklastenaktivität führt und den Knochenabbau und -umsatz verringert. Sie wurde verwendet, um postmenopausale Osteoporose, Paget′-Krankheit, Hyperkalzämie und, zusammen mit Krebschemotherapie, Knochenschäden, die durch auf Knochen gestreuten Krebs verursacht wurden, zu behandeln.
