General description
Retinol oder Vitamin A ist ein primärer Alkohol und die primäre zirkulierende Form von Vitamin A. Es ist biologisch inaktiv. Retinol oder All-trans-Retinol ist ein 20 Kohlenstoffatome enthaltendes Molekül mit Cyclohexenylring, einer Seitenkette mit vier Doppelbindungen (in Trans-Konfiguration) und einer Alkoholgruppe am Ende.
Application
Retinol wurde verwendet:
- für die Synthese von All-trans-Retinsäure in HepG2-Zellen
- zur Untersuchung der Wirkung von Retinol auf das Wachstum normaler Kolonzellkulturen der Maus als Organoiden
- als Standard für die Bestimmung von Vitamin A in Zellen
- als eine Komponente des chemisch definierten Mediums für eine Hodenorgankultur und Spermatogenese in vitro.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Retinol und dessen Derivate haben Anti-Aging-Eigenschaften. Darüber hinaus wirkt es als Antifalten-Mittel. Aufgrund seiner Photoinstabilität und seinem Hautreizungspotenzial wird es jedoch nur selten in Kosmetikrezepturen verwendet.. Retinol wird für die Behandlung von Dermatosen, einschließlich Lichtalterung, verwendet. Ein Mangel wurde mit der Entstehung von Xerose und follikulärer Hyperkeratose in Verbindung gebracht.
Retinol ist eine Vorstufe von aktiven Retinoiden. Es wird zu Retinaldehyd umgewandelt und anschließend zu Retinsäure. Die Retinsäuren All-trans und 9-cis sind Liganden für nukleäre Rezeptoren, Retinsäurerezeptoren (RAR) und Retinoid-X-Rezeptoren (RXR). Diese Rezeptoren sind transkriptionelle Regulatoren verschiedener Gene.

The overfill tolerance for this product varies depending on the pack size. For 25 mg, the overfill tolerance is +1.0 mg. For 100 mg, the overfill tolerance is +5 mg. For 250 mg, the overfill tolerance is +10 mg. For 500 mg, the overfill tolerance is +25 mg. For 1 g, the overfill tolerance is +0.05 g.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
