Gene Information
human ... MTBP(27085)
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 122-139 of human MTBP, which differ from mouse by three amino acids.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The gene MTBP (Mdm2-binding protein) is mapped to human chromosome 8q24. It is involved in the development and progression of cancer. In hepatocellular carcinoma, MTBP enhances MDM2 (E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase)-associated degradation of E-cadherin. It is also suggested as a therapeutic target for treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. MTBP is a transcriptional target of Myc. It plays an important role in cell cycle progression. Silencing of this gene causes delay in cell cycle progress at S and G2/M phases.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
Other Notes
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP2447.
