General description
5-Fluor-2′-Desoxyuridin, auch als Floxuridin bezeichnet, löst auf DNA gerichtete Zytotoxizität in Krebszellen aus. Floxuridin ist wirksam bei der Behandlung von Leberkrebs und der Unterdrückung von Virulenz von Staphylococcus aureus. Dipeptid-Prodrug-Kombinationen von Floxuridin mit Gemcitabin weisen eine höhere Zelldurchdringlichkeit und verbesserte anti-proliferative Aktivität auf. Der Einsatz von Floxuridin ist bei soliden Tumoren und Krebsarten in fortgeschrittenem Stadium wirksam.
Application
5-Fluor-2′-Desoxyuridin wird als mitotischer Inhibitor bei Schwann-Zellprofilerationen, Gliaproliferation und nicht neuronalen Zellen in Spinalganglion-Kulturen eingesetzt.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Antineoplastisches Arzneimittel, das als potenter Inhibitor von Thymidylat-Synthetase fungiert Resistenz gegen FUDR kann sich in Krebszellenkulturen unter anderem aufgrund von geringfügiger Mykoplasmenkontamination entwickeln.
