Albumine sind lösliche, monomere Proteine, die ??in den Körperflüssigkeiten und Geweben von Tieren und in einigen Pflanzensamen vorkommen. Serumalbumin wirkt als Trägerprotein für Steroide, Fettsäuren und Schilddrüsenhormone. Serumalbumine sind auch bei der Regulierung des kolloidosmotischen Drucks von Blut von entscheidender Bedeutung.

Cellastim™ ist ein gut definiertes rekombinantes Humanalbumin (rHA) ohne tierische Bestandteile. Cellastim wurde für Zellkulturanwendungen entwickelt und ist ein leistungsstarker Medienzusatz, der die Leistung von Humanplasmaalbumin, Rinderserumalbumin und rekombinantem Humanalbumin aus anderen Quellen übertrifft.
