General description

Rinderserumalbumin (BSA) besitzt drei homologe Domänen, die jeweils in die zwei Domänen A und B unterteilt sind. Es ist ein α-helikales globuläres Protein und weist ähnliche Strukturmerkmale wie menschliches Serumalbumin auf.

Application

Rinderserumalbumin-Lösung hat folgende Anwendungen:

• als Zusatz zu Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium für die Kultivierung von menschlichen HepG2-Leberkrebszellen
• als Bestandteil von Hepatozyten-Rückgewinnungsmedium
• als Bestandteil von Fusions- und Aktivierungspuffern für in vitro rekonstituierte Schafsembryonen

Biochem/physiol Actions

Rinderserumalbumin (BSA) ist das Hauptprotein im Blut, besitzt Calcium-Bindungsstellen und reguliert die Metallhomöostase.[1] Es ist eine wichtige Komponente des Zellkulturmediums und fördert die Differenzierung von embryonalen Stammzellen (hESC). Aufgrund seiner hohen Löslichkeit und Reinheit bei geringen Kosten kommt es in der Kosmetik- und Pharmaindustrie vielfach zum Einsatz. BSA dient im Enzym-Immunoassay (ELISA) als Blockierungsmittel, wo es eine unspezifische Bindung von Antigenen und Antikörpern an die Mikrotiterplatten verhindert.
