Definite identification may require additional testing, as those described in the ISO 7932 norm. These correspond to the MYP agar test and the hemolysis test.

Application
Bacillus ChromoSelect Agar ist ein Differenzierungsmedium empfohlen für die schnelle Identifikation von Bacillus-Spezies aus gemischten Kulturen mittels chromogener Methode.
Preparation Note
Suspend 49.2 g in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. DO NOT AUTOCLAVE. Cool to 45-50°C and aseptically add the rehydrated contents of 1 vial of Polymyxin B Selektiv-Supplement (Cat. No. P9602) if desired. Mix well and pour into sterile petri plates.

The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
