Beschreibung

General description

Ein Phenolprodukt, das in Traubenhaut und in Wein vorkommt. Besitzt antimyotische, antitumorale und antioxidative Eigenschaften. Ein spezifischer Inhibitor der Cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1; ED₅₀ = 15 µ;M). Hemmt auch die Hydroxy-Peroxidaseaktivität von COX-1 (ED₅₀ = 3.7 µ;M). Starker Inhibitor der Bildung von unlöslichen Transthyretin(TTR)-Amyloidfibrilen. Hemmt die durch Phorbolester induzierte Bildung von freien Radikalen in HL-60-Zellen (ED₅₀ = 27 µ;M) und wirkt als antimutagener Wirkstoff (ED₅₀ = 15 µ;M) in mit DMBA behandelten TM677-Zellen. Ist auch ein selektiver Inhibitor von P450 1A1. Berichten zufolge aktiviert es Sirtuine und fördert das Überleben von eukaryotischen Zellen.
