General description
Hemmt selektiv Phosphorylierung und Aktivierung von p70 S6-Kinase (IC50 = 50 pM). Verhindert die translationale Aktivierung von IGF-II. Verhindert außerdem das Eintreten von ruhenden T-Zellen in den Zellzyklus, hält das Voranschreiten des Zellzyklus jedoch nicht direkt auf. Hemmt nachweislich spätere Signalweg-Ereignisse, wie die p110Rb-Phosphorylierung, die p34cdc2-Kinase-Aktivierung und die Synthese von Cyclin A. Geht eine starke Bindung mit FK-506-Bindungsproteinen ein. Induziert Berichten zufolge außerdem die Apoptose in einer B-Zelllinie der Maus, hemmt die Lymphokin-induzierte Zellproliferation in der G1-Phase und stoppt Saccharomyces cerevisiae-Zellen irreversibel in der G1-Phase.
