Beschreibung

General description

Ein nichtsteroidaler Entzündungshemmer (NSAID), der als reversibler, kompetitiver und nicht selektiver Inhibitor von Cyclooxygenase (COX) (IC₅₀ = 4,85 µ;M für aufgereinigtes COX-1 und 223 µ;M für aufgereinigtes COX-2) fungiert. Zudem hemmt es Berichten zufolge die COX-1- und COX-2-Aktivität in bovinen Aorta-Endothelzellen (BAEC) (IC₅₀ = 7 µ;M für COX-1 und 72,7 µ;M für COX-2). Potenter Blocker der Inaktivierung von COX-1 durch Aspirin (EC₅₀-Antagonist von 200 µ;M Aspirin ~290 nM für bovines COX-1). Reduziert nachweislich die Sekretion von Gesamt-Aβ; (Amyloid β;_{40 und 42}) in menschlichen Nervenzellen und bietet eine neuroprotektive Wirkung gegen Glutamat-, Stickstoffoxid- und Superoxid-induzierte Schäden. Aktiviert die Peroxisom-Proliferator-aktivierten Rezeptoren α; und γ; in CV-1- und C3H10T1/2-Zellen (~100 µ;M–500 µ;M).
