Ein stabil markierter interner Standard, der sich für die LC-MS/MS-Überwachung des 3-Methoxytyramin-Spiegels im Plasma oder Urin eignet und in diagnostischen Tests, in der Endokrinologie oder klinischen Chemie eingesetzt wird. 3-Methoxytyramin ist ein Metabolit von Dopamin, ein Katecholamin, das als Neurotransmitter für Dopaminrezeptoren und Neurohormon für die Regulierung mehrerer Hirnfunktionen wirkt. 3-Methoxytyramin-Spiegel eignen sich als Biomarker für die Diagnose von neuroendokrinen Tumoren, wie Phäochromozytom oder Paragangliom.
