General description

PCR grade water is sterile-filtered. It is free from exonucleases (DNAse, RNAse) and endonuclease (NICKase) and is also free from nucleic acid contamination.

Application

Suitable for polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
Water has been used:

  • as a component of the reaction mixture and as a diluting agent in microfluidic RT-qPCR
  • as a component of the reaction mixture for the amplification of products from fungal (Trametes versicolor) DNA
  • as a diluting agent and as a component of the reaction mixture for the amplification of cDNA[1]
  • Water has been used to make up the final volume of the sample in polymerase chain reaction (PCR)[1]

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. Is water the pcr reagent? Or both are different?

    1 answer
    1. This product is considered a PCR reagent, as are a number of other products and compounds. The term ‘Reagent’, in this context, simply mean a component or substance in a given chemical reaction or method. For PCR, reagents would include this PCR tested water, as well as Taq polymerase, primers, dNTPs, buffers, Magnesium Chloride, and template DNA.
