General description

Ammonium zirconium(IV) carbonate (AZC) solution is an industrial salt based solution that is majorly used in the surface treatment of metals. It may also be used as a cross-linker for water soluble macromolecules.

Application

AZC can be used as a precursor for the preparation of zirconium oxide which can further be used in biomedicine and other nano-based applications. It can be reacted with borax to form an acid-base bifunctional catalyst for selective organic transformation.
