Ubiquitin, also known as ubiquitin C (UBC), is a globular protein, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 12q24.31. The encoded protein consists of 76 amino acids.
Inmunógeno
a synthetic peptide between 36-66 amino acids of human Ubiquitin, which is in the Ubiquitin-like 1 domain
Aplicación
Anti-ubiquitin antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.
Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas
Ubiquitin plays a major role in protein degradation. Ubiquitin-mediated degradation of regulatory proteins has been implicated in the regulation of various processes, such as cell-cycle progression, signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, receptor down-regulation and endocytosis. Aberrations in the ubiquitin-mediated pathways contribute to malignant transformation.
Forma física
Supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide

The selective degradation of many short-lived proteins in eukaryotic cells is carried out by the ubiquitin system. In this pathway, proteins are targeted for degradation by covalent ligation to ubiquitin, a highly conserved small protein. Ubiquitin-mediated degradation of regulatory proteins
Our prior study (Tarasov et al., 2022) discovered that numerous adaptive mechanisms emerge in response to cardiac-specific overexpression of adenylyl cyclase type 8 (TGAC8) which included overexpression of a large number of proteins. Here, we conducted an unbiased phosphoproteomics analysis
