Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an acidic phospholipid present in human cerebral cortex. It is abundant in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane in neural tissues.[1]

Aplicación

17:0-14:1 PS or 1-heptadecanoyl-2-(9Z-tetradecenoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine has been used as an internal standard:
  • for the detection of lipids by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)[2]
  • to determine lipid concentration in human primary myotubes lipid extracts by mass spectrometry (MS) analysis[3]
  • for phospholipid quantification by MS[4]
  • for lipid extraction by methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) method[5]
  • for lipid quantification using liquid chromatography (LC)-MS[1]

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is associated with the Akt, protein kinase C (PKC) and Raf-1 signaling. It supports neuronal survival, neurite growth and synaptogenesis.[1]
