Descripción general

Cardiolipin (CL) is a polyglycerophospholipid. In eukaryotes, CL is exclusively present in the inner mitochondrial membrane.[1] CL species are complex in structure due to variations in the chain length, degree of unsaturation, as well as the permutations of four fatty acid substituents.[2]

Cardiolipin (CL) is synthesized in mitochondria. CL is essential for mitochondrial bioenergetics and signaling.[3]
