General description

El óxido de deuterio, un disolvente deuterado,[1] es un disolvente de pureza estandar para los análisis de NMR (resonancia magnética nuclear). Se han evaluado varias propiedades termodinámicas (como las frecuencias vibracionales intermoleculares, la energía del enlace de hidrógeno, la energía libre, la entalpía y la entropía) del óxido de deuterio líquido.[2] Se han comunicado la constante de ionización para el D2O (en el intervalo de 5-50°C), los valores de pK (a 25°C) y la entalpía, la entropía y los cambios en la capacidad calorífica (para la disociación de D2O).[3]

Application

El óxido de deuterio (agua pesada, agua-d2, D2O) se ha utilizado como disolvente para la disolución del patrón interno y la muestra durante los experimentos de cuantificación mediante resonancia magnética nuclear.[1] Se ha utilizado para la disolución del tris(2,2′-bipiridil)diclororutenio(II) hexahidratado Ru(bpy)3.4
El óxido de deuterio puede utilizarse:
  • Para preparar ácido trifluoroacético-d mediante reacción con el anhídrido trifluoroacético.[4]
  • Como agente de deuteración para los alcoholes primarios y secundarios en la posición del carbono-β a través de la reacción de intercambio H/D en presencia del catalizador rutenio.[5]
  • Junto con el hexametildisilano como agente transferidor de deuterio para que los alquinos formen (E)-1,2-dideuterioalquenos en presencia de un complejo de paladio.[6]

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   4. I don't have the ability to store Product 151882, Deuterium oxide, under nitrogen to prevent H2O uptake. Is there another way that I can work with D20 in order to preserve its purity?

    1. You may be interested in our ampulized deuterium oxide products: 521965 (10x0.6mL), 441376 (10x0.75mL) or 269794 (10x1mL). These products are ideal for one time use applications, like as an NMR solvent, because there is decreased chance of water uptake during storage.
