Pyridoxine hydrochloride is a water soluble vitamin. It is available through dietary sources like, meat, fish, nuts, vegetables and fruits.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Pyridoxine/vitamin B₆ is implicated in cellular metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, amino acid biosynthesis and catabolism. It is also implicated in the production of neurotransmitters, chlorophyll and plant hormones. Pyridoxine acts as a cofactor for several biochemical reactions. Pyridoxine deficiency is associated with peripheral neuropathy. Pyridoxine hydrochloride is available in parenteral and oral formulations.
